2018 MMN CONFERENCE

While many objectives of the Network can be achieved with the WEB site and mailing list, nothing can really replace a Face-to-Face meeting to help generate understanding, camaraderie, and encourage sharing.  The Malawi Mission Network was first formed at a Face-to-Face meeting in August, 2003 near Louisville, KY.  We had approximately 30 people at the meeting and we shared what we were all doing and were gladdened to see how much we all had in common but also how much we could learn from each other. Everyone felt this was an extremely valuable opportunity and they wanted to do it again.  Since then the meetings have been growing and improving every year.   

As valuable and interesting as the formal presentations are, probably the most valuable part of the Meeting is the chance to meet and network with others with the same interests as you, and likely very different experiences from which both can learn.

We  have lined up an exciting program for this conference.   We are excited to have Rev.  Vasco Kachipapa,  who is General Secretary of the CCAP Synod of Nkhoma, as our Keynote Speaker and Rev. Colin Mbawa - the General Secretary of the CCAP General Assembly.  We will also have Rev. Davidson Chifungo  head of Veritas College Malawi.  You can see our preliminary AGENDA to see all of the exciting programs we have lined up.

We will also have some PC(USA) staff personnel.  We are still working on the agenda  - and while still subject to change - here is the current AGENDA...

Registration deadline is June 29th 2018.  After that, if space is still available, you may be accommodated (at a higher fee) but you may not get your first choice of room assignments - so register early. After July 6th - only Commuter Registration will be available.

LOCATIONS:
While the meeting will be at both the Embassy Suites and the Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, housing will be at the Embassy Suites and the gathering location for the first day, Thursday, Aug. 9th, will be at the Embassy Suites These 2 locations are relatively close to each other. We will have free shuttles between these locations as needed.  If you have your own car there, you are free to drive back and forth as there is plenty of parking at both locations.  For those that are flying in, or for anyone else wanting to use it, we will have shuttles available.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE

The Embassy Suites offers a free shuttle from the Love Field airport.  If you fly into the DFW airport, you will be responsible for your own transportation.
